Offload your 3G and 4G networks using WLAN and Orbyte™ Credential Server (OCS), the system that brings the true plug-and-play WLAN activation of your full customer base.

WLAN Offload
Mobile operators have multiple networks for mobile data services. These include typically cellular networks as 2g, 3g and 4g with national coverage, and also often a WLAN network with coverage of concentrated areas as hotels, offices and shopping malls.
The challenge with today’s business model of Mobile Data requires strict cost control in network utilization and investments. WLAN is considered a high performing and low cost alternative vs cellular technologies when Mobile operators invest in capacity and coverage expansions.
Orbyte™ Credential Server (OCS) include the application that “silently” auto-provision the full mobile data customer base with WLAN, to seamlessly and automatically access the best network depending on network availability.
The bundled subscription
The typical mobile data subscription includes access to all available networks where the operator is in control what network to prioritize when available.
The subscriber will initially have access only to cellular networks through the SIM-card. The connection manager will send a machine-to-machine SMS to OCS that will verify the user and respond with a machine-to-machine SMS carrying the credentials - username and password. The connection manager configures itself to always use these credentials for WLAN login whenever accessing the operators WLAN network. The user is not aware or need to participate in this activation process.

Implementation of Orbyte™ Credential Server
OCS is a product from ServiceFactory that can be delivered on short notice.
The OCS application is running on a server in its minimum setup, but may easily be scaled upwards in capacity using multiple clustered servers. The scale of the implementation will decide how many servers to use.
The implementation requires some integration with the CRM system, the SMSc, the connection manager and the WLAN Core. All integration is using straight-forward standard and open interfaces with minimum complexity.
